Welcome To Frogsailles

The ranch. A way of life upon which this country was built. Today, ranching is done much the same way it was almost 150 years ago. Led by Sharla J. Frost, Frogsailles uses the latest technologies to help keep the ranching tradition thriving.

Here at Frogsailles, our family has taken great pride in our way of life, our livestock and our community for four generations.

We breed and raise Texas Tiger Stripe, Charolais and Brahman Hereford Cross cattle for both market and show stock. We have solid successful bloodlines, and we take great care to produce quality healthy animals.

Our cattle are raised with care, comfort and great attention to detail. We provide Coastal Bermuda Grass in multiple eight seasonal pastures covering more than 800 acres.

Our cattle are given supplemental round bales in the winter, and we grow our hay here on the property in our 320 acre hay field.

Our Herd

Charolais

Originating in the Charolles region of France in the early 1800s and entering the U.S. through Mexico in 1934, the Charolais is one of the most impactful North American Cattle breeds.

The breed colour varies from white to a light straw. They are large-framed animals, long-bodied, heavily muscled and late-maturing. Most Charolais are horned, though some polled animals are now being bred. Docility is a feature. Steers produced on good pasture yield heavy, well-muscled, fine-textured, though lean builds. Crossbred calves from good milking mothers can yield excellent builds at nine to 10 months of age.

Black Angus

Black Angus, originally Aberdeen Angus, originated in northeastern Scotland. The breed was introduced into the Unites States in 1873, and it's influence and popularity spread quickly.

Characteristic features of the Angus is a black color, polled head, compact and low set body, fine flesh quality and high dressing percentage. The breed is known for their high quality beef, and for many years, Angus and crossbred Angus steers have received high honors at livestock shows throughout Great Britain and the U.S.

Tiger Stripes

A cross between a Brahman and Hereford, (F1) Tiger Stripes are hardy and extremely low maintenance. Because they have more sweat glands and oilier skin, they are drought and insect resistant.

Known for bulk, bone density, hardiness and heat endurance, Tiger Stripes are distinct for their tiger like striped brindle coat.

Calves

Show Calves

As a fourth generation cattle ranch, we take our breeding and care program very seriously. We manage our herd with the greatest detail, and as a result, we produce high quality animals.

Our herd has access to eight grazing pastures, natural spring fed creeks and hay that we grow and harvest here on the ranch.

We have a limited number of calves available each year. They are well bred and well built. We take great pride in our operation, and we are passionate about our land and our animals.
